The company, with headquarters in Pamplona / Iruna, Spain, is engaged in the manufacture, marketing, import and export of vehicles, its components, spare parts and accessories. It was incorporated in 1993. It is one of the largest Volkswagen producers worldwide. The company also manufactures machinery and equipment used in the manufacturing processes. It also provides technical assistance and allied services to suppliers, importers, agents, clients and group companies. Its plant in Pamplona places great emphasis on quality assurance. The first quality assurance certificates according to ISO 9002 were awarded to this Volkswagen plant in 1994. This was followed by an award in 1997 according to ISO 14001 and the EU Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS).
